How to make a GIF from a video

  1. Choose your video and pause at the moment the GIF should start. Press Set to current time.
  2. Pick the length, size and frame rate. Shorter and smaller GIFs load faster and are easier to share.
  3. Press Make GIF.
Why is my GIF so big?

GIF is an old format that doesn't compress video well. A 3-second, 480 px GIF at 10 fps is usually 1–4 MB. Choose 360 px or 8 fps for a smaller file.

Why do colours look a bit grainy?

A GIF can only hold 256 colours. The tool picks the best 256 for your clip, but smooth gradients may show bands.
