SWP calculator
A systematic withdrawal plan pays you a fixed amount every month while the rest stays invested. See how long it lasts.
An estimate, not a promise. Returns vary, so keep a margin.
Year by year
How the SWP is worked out
Each month the balance grows by the monthly return (yearly % ÷ 12), then the withdrawal is taken out. If you take out less than the growth, the balance keeps rising. If you take out more, the balance shrinks and may run out.
The "monthly limit that keeps your capital" is the first month's growth: amount × yearly return ÷ 12. Withdrawing up to this keeps the original amount roughly intact, if the return holds.
Who uses an SWP?
Retired people who want a monthly income, and parents paying monthly college or hostel fees from money saved earlier.
How is an SWP taxed?
Each withdrawal is treated as selling some units, so only the gain part of each withdrawal is taxed. The rate depends on the fund type and how long the units were held.
