How to use voice typing
- Choose your language and press Start talking. Allow the microphone.
- Speak clearly at a normal pace. Grey words are still being worked out; they turn black when final.
- Say "full stop", "comma", "question mark" or "new line" for punctuation (English only).
Which browsers work?
Chrome and Edge on computers and Android, and Safari on iPhone and Mac. Firefox doesn't support voice typing yet.
Is my voice sent anywhere?
To turn speech into text, Chrome and Edge send the sound to Google's or Microsoft's speech service; Safari may do it on your device. FreeStudyKit never receives your voice or your text.
Can it transcribe a recording or video?
Not directly. Play the recording out loud near the microphone while this page is listening; the result depends on how clear the sound is.
