Do these QR codes expire?

No. The link or text is stored in the pattern itself, so the code works for as long as the link works.

Is a UPI QR code safe?

It only fills in your UPI ID, name and amount in the payer's app. Payers still confirm and enter their own PIN. Always test with a ₹1 payment first.
