How age is calculated

We count full years first, then full months, then the days left over. For example, from 15 March 2008 to 1 August 2026 is 18 years, 4 months and 17 days.

What if I was born on 29 February?

In years without 29 February, this tool counts your birthday on 28 February. Some official rules use 1 March instead, so for a borderline cut-off, check your exam's notice.

Does "age as on 1 August" include that day?

Yes. The tool works out your completed age on that date, the way exam notices use it.
